TraceLine
TraceLine is a single-player number-path puzzle game in which you trace one unbroken line of light through a grove of numbered runes. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
TraceLine does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. The game runs entirely on your device and has no network features at all.
Information we collect
None. TraceLine has no account, no sign-up, no login and no form of any kind. It never asks for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, location or any other personal detail, and it contains no code that would send such a detail anywhere if you typed one.
Data stored on your device
To make the app work, TraceLine stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:
- Your per-level results — the star rating you earned, your best move count and how many times you have cleared each grove — stored in a small database file inside the app’s own private storage.
- Which grove you last played and which groves you have unlocked, so the journey map opens where you left off.
- Your settings, such as sound and haptics preferences, kept as simple key/value entries.
- Two flags recording whether you have already seen the opening tutorial and the per-grove intro cards, so they are not shown again.
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to TraceLine or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.
Permissions
None. TraceLine requests no runtime permissions whatsoever. Its Android manifest declares no permissions at all — not even internet access — and its iOS configuration contains no usage-description entries, because there is no camera, microphone, location, contacts, photo-library or storage feature to justify one.
Network use
TraceLine is fully offline. It opens no network connections, contacts no servers and embeds no web content. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, no remote configuration and no update check. The game behaves identically in airplane mode, and nothing you do in it ever leaves your phone.
Third-party services
None. TraceLine integrates no analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting or social SDKs. Its only dependencies are the Flutter framework and open-source packages for on-device state management, local storage, layout and animation — none of which collect or transmit data. There is no advertising and nothing can be purchased inside the app.
Children's privacy
TraceLine is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information, transmits nothing off the device and shows no advertising, it raises none of the concerns the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or the GDPR provisions on children’s data are designed to address. We knowingly collect no data from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Because every byte TraceLine writes stays in the app’s private storage on your own device, you are already in full control of it. You can erase your progress from inside the game at any time, clear the app’s data through your device settings, or uninstall TraceLine — any of which permanently removes everything the game has stored. There is no server-side copy for us to hold, export or delete on your behalf.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
